Bears "quartered"

Bears "quartered"

The bears in the Podolsk zoo were "quartered" in new premises.

Brown - moved to a new modern aviary with a pool and a waterfall (stage II) next to the new aviary, to which they moved a year ago. Now the Himalayan bears have been moved to their already habitable premises (I stage). Now they are getting used to new square meters and an unusual landscape.

“There will be bears here all the time,” says the director of the zoo, Yevgeny Tkachik. - This arrangement of animals was originally planned. The first turn is a little less than the other. Since brown bears are slightly larger, they need a large territory. And Himalayan bears are suitable for both enclosures. They both meet all standards, with a large margin, and are no different from each other. The new aviary also has a swimming pool, filtering station, feeders, dens, a hall for eating, a movable wall.
The director of the zoo also noted that the new aviary, in which brown bears had already been hibernating, had fully justified itself within a year.
- We were very pleased to work with the new aviary. I think the bears are comfortable living in it. It is also nice for visitors, as only glass protects them from animals. Bears do not feel the energy of man, and that is extremely safe. In addition, visitors are less thrown into such aviary food, helps prevent digestive disorders in animals.
The director of the menagerie also said that the institution has already been done on new spacious modern enclosures for wolves and foxes. Their construction will begin, only funds will arrive.
