Yesterday morning in the Podolsk zoo in Vinnitsa, her firstborn son gave birth to a camel.
In the first hours after birth, the baby could not stand on weak legs and did not suck mother's milk. The baby clung to his mother all the time to keep warm, while his mother tried to lie down next to him so as not to squeeze her weight. In the evening, the camel could stand up and try maternal milk for the first time. Today, the animal feels quite normal.
“Mom treats the baby very carefully, guards him,” says the director of the zoo, Evgeny Tkachik. - I think everything will be good. The boy was born weighing about 80 kilograms. Physiologically, he is quite healthy. Our little visitors, seeing the newborn, gave him the nickname "Zeke".
The firstborn was born into a family of two-humped camels. The offspring of animals of this breed is born every two to three years.
